More Pics--Finally!

Grace woke up in a real terrible two's mood today so we decided to head outside so she could burn off some steam. We headed to our local nature center which has "hiking trails" and a variety of animals to check out. It's not very big, and, in fact, the hiking trails really are an oversized backyard but they're perfect for little ones. We love to go there because the staff is ridiculously friendly and sometimes they're exercising the chinchilla in its exercise ball which means chasing it around the place as it bounces off of walls and small children. It's really hilarious. There's also a bird there that likes to lull you into a false sense of security by hiding in the bottom of its cage. When you peer in, it screeches really loud, flies up, and then laughs at you. He's gotten me on more than one occasion and if Grace ever blurts out "Jesus Christ", you now know where that came from. We had a great time and it's wonderful to see Grace so excited to go hiking even though she thought we were going to see horses so spent the morning "neighing." We packed her backpack ("ba pa") with a water bottle and Nemo cell phone. In case of an emergency we could hear Nemo yelling "Want to go to the reef with me?" over and over. It's good to error on the side of safety. So here are some pics I took of our morning.

Grace loved the bunnies and screamed "NOOOO" whenever any other kid attempted to get close to them

The gigantic turtle was a big hit and we talked a lot about how turtles don't eat rocks and maybe you shouldn't offer it any

No hike is complete without Grace finding a big stick

Grace is actually making the sign for "more" turtles. Isn't her backpack cute?

Checking out the ever exotic domestic guinea pig
