BOO!

Quite a few people told me these past weeks that they don't like Halloween, think it's "weird" or "pointless," and generally a pain. Poo on them! Halloween is not intended for adults (though I know quite a few who enjoy it just as much as kids). Halloween is all about imagination, creativity, and kids getting to confront the spooky or scary on their own terms. Think it's all about the candy? Sure it is to an extant but Grace has asked me repeatedly today to get dressed up and see her friends again. I think sometimes adults have a hard time fathoming a holiday that somehow doesn't directly involve them. Well guess what? We were all kids once and lived for the day of getting dressed up and running around like lunatics for a night. Poo on you if you don't remember that or won't indulge a child's fantasy for just one day.

Last night was so fantastic. Grace was so into it but the real show stealer was Tom. It's really no secret that my husband is not a fashionista. Honestly, we stick to solid, basic colors and sometimes need to review the fundamentals of matching clothes. However, last night, he pulled off Captain Hook like nobody's business!

The kids loved visiting all the houses and checking out the various costumes. They were both exhausted by the end of the night and still sleepy today. The constant requests for candy are getting old but hey, who doesn't like candy?

Tinkerbell and Hook--perfect together!

Peter Pan wasn't quite sure what to make of HookBut Tinkerbell explained it was just daddy

Hook tells Tinkerbell to walk the plank!
